As part of the design team for the renovations to the existing Benton Convention Center located in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem, DAVENPORT conducted a study on the surrounding downtown area. DAVENPORT was retained to determine the potential traffic impacts as a result of bulb-out additions on Cherry Street to accommodate on-street parking and the expansion and new entrance to the facility to allow for a dedicated drop-off lane.
DAVENPORT also provided site civil design services as a part of the renovations. The scope of services included modifications to grading and drainage systems on all main and adjacent streets.
Roadway design services for all intersection and roadway improvements were also provided as part of the expansion. DAVENPORT also provided water and sewer design services as there were necessary modifications required to create distribution system connections.
