DAVENPORT was hired to provide transportation analysis services for a new development in the Town of Cary. DAVENPORT needed to perform a customized trip generation study for the site by collecting traffic data at an existing location in Greensboro, identifying a suitable independent variable, and developing trip generation rates for the land use. A technical memorandum was then provided, reviewing existing traffic conditions and capacity in the vicinity of the proposed site, and discussing the impacts of the site. Sight distance was reviewed, and information was provided on projected site traffic and potential site traffic under land uses allowed by zoning. DAVENPORT engineers represented the development at a Town Council meeting and assisted in the approval of the site plan.
